New Dials Fitted - What do you think?

Postby Muad_dib77 » Sun Nov 26, 2006 8:51 pm

Got these fellas on eBay..

They have a little adjuster thing the lets me adjust the brightness and lets me have the main bits illuminated in blue or green.

The wireing was very fiddley as I wanted to have an absolute minimum of exposed wire/components.
I managed to install the knob just to the left of the steering section of the dash. I ran the wire to the "transformer" up under the plastic panel under the steering wheel - I duck taped the "transfomer" to the back of the shield..(That puppy is going nowhere!) - and did the rest of the wirework behind the centerconsole.
I hooked it all up to the ciggy lighter as his comes on when the lights are turned on - also the ciggy lighter is fused with 15amps rather than 10amp as with most the other electrics in the car.

Apologies for the poor quality of some of the pictures.

Got them on da bay..

http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0046698314

If seller doesn't have them listed use the ask seller function - I'm sure he has some in stock..

Haven't got any daytime shots at hand - but I'll take one in the morning..

They come in a nifty box and all - not difficult to fit - just takes a far bit of time... also it's a bit of a female dog working behind the fto dash with my tubby arms.. managed to cut myself quite badly whilst trying to do the wireing bit - so was covered in blood by the time i was done..

Stupid cut doesn't even look like much.

If there's a few interested members I'm sure I could arrange for a group buy at a price lower than what he has listed..Shipping would also be a hull of a lot cheaper.

Let me know if you're keen.

Only reson I cut myself up was I wanted the transformer yoke to sit in a really akward spot...

Nice, very nice but don`t fit to my TipTronic and there`re just miles. And GR has a red area from 7500 not 8000 RPM :)
But I still claim that they look great

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-NEW-MITSUBISH ... dZViewItem

At present there are 180mph & 110mph kits available for manual only.

I went for the 180mph kit because the scales are the same - if I don't actually go ahead and convert the car to mph all I need to do for the NCT is put a wee sticker with "kmph" over the "mph" print on the dial..

The kit comes boxed from the manufacturer. I'm very impressed with the quality.
Brought my camera with me to work today so I'll upload a couple of daytime pics at around 1ish..
