Guys,
I've bought a Video Camera - one of those snazzy ones that record straight onto a HD or an SD card..
(Panasonic SDR-40 if anybody wants a look in)
.. but I'm not happy with the image quality and I'm wanting to return it.. now there is nothing wrong with the camera it's perfect in any other aspect - I'm just mega fussy when it comes to these things.
Does anybody know if there can be any problems doing this?
I only bought it yesterday - but did 2 test recordings with varying light and noise conditions and it just doesn't make me go "wow that looks really good".. more of a "Meh!"
The sound quality is AMAZING though and it's such a breeze to use the thing..

I'd say you have a good chance of getting a refund. If there's no actual fault with the camera, they're not obliged to do it, but they may do. They might issue a credit note for the amount too.

that's what I thought - damn - blast..
I'll give it a whirl anyways.
*** Just off the phone to them, they said they'd take it back no bother.. ***

was looking at these "straight to SD" card cameras too... Did 1 days worth of research of different medium prices ones (300 - 500). All were very poor. If you wanted anything decent you needed to be up over the 500euro range. Settled on a canon model for 380. It records onto mini dvds. haven't used it but it was the best scoring out of multiple website reviews, expert reviews, user reviews, and professionals.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll have to go for one of the Full 1080 yokes..
was rather hoping I wouldn't have to spend as much to get something I'd be happy with..
problem is I know that I'm not gonna use it more than 6-7 times a year..
although I suppose if it the camera is good enough potentially I'd get hooked and be bringing it with me everywhere...
heh.

No good - when I bought it I asked for the box to be opened so I could verify the contents in the store..
only 7 employees there so they'd all know..
not much ado out in expert in Drogheda so they're all remarkably clued in..

Just ask, most of these places are reasonable, especially if you want to trade up.

Absolute class..
went in a returned the camera today.. 2 minutes later the full amount was back in my account.. I'd shop there again in a heart beat..
No fuss at all..
Instead of the Panasonic SDR-40 I've gotten one of these puppies..
JVC Everio GZ-HD7 - collecting it tomorrow specwise it looks like a massive improvement..altough it doesn't have a much optical zoom..
So there it is..if you want to return something..expert in Drogheda is the place to do it.. of course you need to buy it there in the first place
