RX8 18X8J'S WILL THESE FIT A GR

Getting back in to the fold next week :D , just wanted to know if these fit with out too much issues.

As I am getting a GR with full NERO kit, the standard 16's don't look right.

I think the offset will catch you out... 35-38 is the ideal offset, 50 is a bit off.

Is the wheel further out or in the higher the number is? :? if its further in you could use spacers but you're looking at 10mm spacers which would be bigger than I'd like to use I think.

Yeah thought that too, so the fitment should be 5x114 ET35-38, and 18's should fit?
I'm not sure if it's lowered, the gap in the arch seem abit lower than the GS I had was, or if it's the body kit that is making it look that way.

Yup, and don't forget the bore of 62.5 IIRC. You can get 18s on there, actually a few on here have them. Just remember to keep your rolling radius (rims + tyres) right or your speedo will be off.

Wheel is further IN the higher the offset - ideal offset will depend on alloy design and the width of the rim - for an aftermarket 17 or 18 inch rim with a rim width of 7.5-8.5 I think you'd be better off running a 28-32 offset - will look much better as well.

FTO centre bore is 67.1 - if the centre bore on the RX8 alloys is smaller than that it will not fit - if its larger then you may be able to get hub centric rings. However I think the RX8's bore is actually 67.1 - you may want to check that.

The offset of 50mm on the RX8 rims may catch you out - you will likely need spacers of 10mm + - make sure they are the motorsport type and not the cheapo universal ones.

I'm running 18s and was on a 35 profile tire for a while - it's no fun - they're just too hard - and it did cause a buckled alloy. Now that I've changed to 18s on a 40 profile I get scrubbage.

If I had to do it all over I'd go for 17s with a 40 profile tire.

OT - but 29000 miles on a 12 year old car - that can't be right - thats less than 2500 miles per year! :smt017

Car does look a little lost on 16's - If I was you though I'd bite the bullet and get a set of Rota Torques - www.rotarims.ie they're lightweight and come in 17X8 5X114.3 ET35 - give him your bore of 67.1 and ask for a 215/45 tyre - Should come in for less than €1K including tyres - If you add tyres to those 18's from the RX8 it would cost you more than that.

Cheers, but the cost to refurb them would end up the same as a set of 17"s, them Rota ones look real nice. A gun metal colour rim would suit the car best IMO.

The Gun Metal is nice and probably most suitable though its quite a dark gunmetal in the flesh - almost black - heres a set of gunmetal 18 inch Rota GTRs on my bus - they also come in an FTO fitment -
