Postby psyfto » Sat Oct 03, 2009 7:22 pm

I fitted coilovers to my fto today but the problem is that the front splitter is about 30mm of the road dos anyone know how i could raise the front end by around 100mm before i end up stuck on a stupid speed ramp

30mm!? How did that happen? Mine is lowered so that the arches are practically rubbing the wheels, cant really go any lower, but I still have good clearance for the splitter. I wouldnt have thought coilovers would have brought it down to the floor.

Coilovers normally have an adjuster ring on them .. have a look - as far as I know if should be at the bottom of the springy bit; you will prolly need a special kind of spanner for them... if they're "tein" Camskill sells them.

Do you have an original bumper, aftermarket or an extended one like this?

Had a Topmix splitter on my last FTO (now exToms) - and the car was lowered on KYBs and Apex springs. I had to rivet back the arch liner over the wheel to stop/limit the rubbing but if your coilovers are not adjustable for height then you're just gonna have to either take off the splitter or wait for it to be removed in the first multistory carpark or speed bump you come across.
