Carbon fibre roof overlay

Postby karlf » Wed May 20, 2009 6:20 pm

Just seen this advertised on the FTOOC, thought some might be interested in it.

For those that cant access the FTOOC a guy is offering to make a Carbon Fibre overlay that attaches to the roof. It does away with the need to replace the roof as this just sits on the original. Its costs £150 delivered in the uk (no price to Ireland). He is looking for order before 1st June.

wouldn't be overly enthusiastic about this one, you still have to lacquer it, and it only comes 1/3 the way down the A pillar, it'll also add weight, which is kinda against the principle of carbon roofs? then there's the issue of where it meets the bodywork.

You'd be as well off getting a vinyl sheet and sticking that on.

I think the only pics they have are of the mould used to make a replacement roof skin.
