Possibly but I took it off on its own because I didn't want to mess with the radiator until I'd made sure it was meant to come off.

I'll have a closer look tomorrow. There's a lot of metal bits around there but I'm not sure how much of it is needed by the engine radiator.

good update lads... If there is not a heavy bracket you may as well leave on the 400g extra fan as it would aid cooling at a small weight price.

Well it's taken far longer than it should have (bad weather, waiting on parts, extremely busy at work) but finally with all the spare time that the after-Christmas period has given me I got my engine into the car this week and it ran today the first time I turned the key.

I'm absolutely ecstatic. It got dark before I could put the finishing touches on it but it sounds sweet and everything seems to be in order. I'm very excited about getting behind the wheel tomorrow. Happy Christmas to me. ;)

Finally all done! Since my last post there's been plenty more upset. First of all I damaged the power steering pump somewhere along the way and had to replace it.

Then finally when I took it out for a spin there was a horrifically loud rattling noise from the engine bay. It turned out that I hadn't torqued the flywheel properly and it had come loose so I had to strip everything out and get the gearbox off again.

However, at long last it's ready. Just went for a spin and it feels and sounds fantastic. Not to mention there's considerably less visible exhaust than there was from the old engine. I'm just hoping that nothing else crops up for a long time. I'm done disassembling the front-end for a while.

niice wildy

good thing you got the engine in time . the FTO in greenhils is now a crushed box - as most of the cars there.they lay concrete so most of he cars are gone.
same thing with the scrapy @ Red cow . just a couple of cars left .. rest is empty !

Wow! I most definitely got lucky getting an engine in such good condition at that price. I highly doubt you'd get that again. Very grateful and thanks again for pointing me at it!
