Just wanted to say hello and congrats on a great site, only found it this week and I’ve already got a lot of ideas.
As a bit of a background to myself, I bought my first (and doubt it’ll be my last) FTO just a month ago, and having a great time with it. It’s a black 95 1.8l (GS?) manual. I’ve added a pic here (excuse the poor quality… camera phone), to see if any of ye recognise it as a past members car, but I don’t think it was?
Hard to find a nice 1.8 manual (I do a lot of mileage and have only just finished college, so not a lot of money, so couldn’t go with Mivec
), but I picked this up in Dublin, and it seems in reasonable nick, though there are a few small things I want to get around too. This weekend will be spent taking the peeling off the headlights, and putting in a little bit of sound proofing. (I’ve read the guides on the forum, but will probably have a few questions when I get into it).
I might tackle doing a refurb on the alloys when I can spare a long weekend (and I get brave enough). They’re 17’s (not sure the make) and not in bad condition, but there is some paint flaking, and they could do with some TLC.
After that, god knows. I'd like to replace the radio head unit. Nothing fancy, but I just don’t like the one that’s in it. Will bore you with the details later.
Anyway, any comments/criticisms you have on the car are more than welcome, I won’t be offended and appreciate any advice.
