What a night....

Got a call from our security company last night to say the alarm went off, tore down in my pj's, having a gut feeling it was bad...
Went round the back and heard a voice inside, by the time we got to the front he had taken off, all the front glass was smashed, one of the till drawers busted. Wasted his time as I have everything locked away. Took nothing. About 8 guards came very quickly, they were very helpful. Spotted on camera but nothing great. They have an inkling who it may be.
Said we were there so fast we fightened him away - he's seen running through the car park. There from 3-5am last night, couldn't get anyone to board it up so had to hire a static guard.
What a disaster... crimes devision came today and got very good prints, and a DNA sample from a ciggie he dropped...
Did you know that we have no print database? That every print has to be looked at individually and as a result it takes months? Myself and the detective agreed this country is backward.
I have to say my respect for the gardai has rose a lot, they were there really fast, were really supportive, came back today for footage and forensics and just generally, were really nice, down to earth folk. I thought they wouldn't be bothered but they really showed a genuine concern and were on call for me all day and night.
Pure paranoid now though, at least we impeded his progress...
I need sleep....!
