Small service - Bit confused!

Postby cullen5998 » Sat Jul 17, 2010 4:13 pm

Im going to get a few things done on the car over the next few weeks. Im trying to find out what i need. I tried the search but found it hard to find anything relevant.
I have a GPX manual

What oil should i use for the gearbox and how much will i need? Is there a filter on the gearbox oil that needs to be changed? I cant seem to find these on Camskill

How much engine oil is needed? i think its about 5 litres but am not sure plus what filter do i need to get

Im going to change the brake pads too that bits straight forward enough

Id like to buy everything from Camskill if possible, im going to have a look shortly.

I assume you haven't downloaded the owners manual. If not, get it from here and check page 110.

No filter on the manual box.Check this thread for engine oil filter compatibility.

No need to buy everything from Camskill either. Filters, oil, gearbox oil etc. are all standard items and can be purchased here locally and probably cheaper.
Obviously you can get your poly bushes, anti-roll bar links etc. from Camskill, but not required for the basics.

I got all my fluid based stuff from opie oils, you'll get a discount too.

If this is the first time you are changing them, it's an absolute b1tch to do. Mallets were involved.
