was fitting my girlfrids amp over the weekend...
but ther head unit only has 2 connestions out rather than 4 like alot of the head units do!

is there something that would split 2 into 4?
or merge 4 into 2

Any chance you could stick a picture up of the connections?

Generally Merging connections causes shorts - and splitting outputs can have serious impacts on the impedence (spelling?) if we're talking speaker outputs anyways...

Generally if the impedence goes lower than 1ohm your amp is toast (as it effective shorts itself out)..

I hope it isn't complete mumbo jumbo..

oh if it's speaker outs you're missing check that you're not looking at a mono unit instead of a stereo.. :-)

erm... what it is, is that there is the cables for the speakers in the car standard left and right.

Right so you're looking to connect 4 speakers to 1 amp?

not all amplifiers support that - it is possible that you've picked up the wrong one.. you could simply hook the 6x9s to the same terminals as the standard speakers or even connect them after the standards in a serial setup.. however both those options place your amp under undue stress.. and can end up causing you more hassle in the long run (ie blown amp or speakers or if you're lucky just fuses...)

don't run an output from the amp into the headunit..
run an output from the headunit into the amp..

there should be a "line out" or similar on the back of the headunit..

pictures or perhaps a drawing of what you'd like to do would make it easier ;-)

oh and - did you consult the manual?

is this what you're looking for?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PHONO-PLUG-TO-2-R ... dZViewItem

they're called "y" splitters and you don't necessarily have to get them from ebay
