yeh CJ, pulley was extremely noisey when engaging air con, it kicked in quite abruptly when AC was turned on, try taking outer shell of pulley off, the coil in mine was completely rusted

i also need a main crank pulley too :(

main crank pulley problems

Postby AL » Mon May 28, 2007 10:32 am

as regards to main crank pulley problems, has anyone here ever had this happen, the crank seems to be vibrating and has a habit of either stripping or knocking off my AC/Power steering belt. is it easy to take off?

Just remove the bucket of junk that is the FTO's antiquated Aircon system. If ye really want to leave it in I have all aircon parts removed from my FTO including Aircon clutch unit and pulley.

Al - I'm gonna be out of the country for a couple of weeks from coming weekend - I'm working in Limerick but living in Clare so you'd need to take a spin out towards Killaloe if you want to pick out of the box.

PM me if you need directions.

A couple of hours of labour - the only new part you'll need is the new Aux belt to bypass the AC pulley. 40+ kgs in useless (IMO) weight off your FTO - the best and cheapest performance mod for the FTO.
