crappy lighting, but here's the first "after" shot of the detailing.

The paint chips still need done, but it had been 4hrs already - they can wait a few days to get done right with time.

bill was £80 - I gave him £90 cos he done a great job and it was a long job.

The paint chip filling is included in that bill too.

Thats a very good price, I always thought it cost almost grand to do it thoroughly.

There's a guy (brian.car.detailer) on bmw-driver.net who will come to your house and do a complete detail (incuding paint correctlion) it for 200 euro - seem some threads with his work and it looks very good.

Thats a seriously good price for what I thought was involved! I always thought the car would have to be away for about a week, that micron readings and all that stuff was taken and that it was a long slow process. But that M3 came up immaculate!

Oh, I saw a thread about a fella doing a detailing on a Gallardo there a while back and it was a different thing he used, then again it was a Gallardo so I suppose they took all the time they could!

Looks a good job Tony. What was included for £80? I'm might take my mothers MGTF here as it has a few scratches on the drivers sill (keeps catching it with her heel) got a quote from colourtech during the week of £200  Can't be that much work in it It's a 2 seater drop top for gods sake and Iv'e already conditioned the roof myself.

It was washed, then claybar'd, then door sills cleaned, boot tracks cleaned, could have done the engine bay but I said no, was gonna take too long and I had to get back to work.

Then it was buffed with a rotary and a paint restorer and sealant, then waxed to the shine you see. All glass was done too. The stone chips will be filled and polished when he gets the solvent paints in (next few days or so).

Also turned down an interior clean + polish, time restraints and I can do that myself.

If you can leave the car there and get a lift to work, it'd all be done. I can give you his phone number, tell him you got it from me and get a quote over the phone?

Got his number off the link you posted, cheers. Might get it done for mum as surprise for birthday I have the car for a week while she's on holiday  Are you bringing your car to portrush tomorrow? If so maybe I could get a look at it then, see how good a job he did first hand. Hope the weather improves

yeah, the weather sucks!

I'll be there anyhow, big smile on my face watching the insane flying round in the wet. :)

Probably park either near metropole, or near York corner.

I hear there are loads of photography restrictions in place this year :(

There are less and less places each year. No one (Photographers/Marshals etc) are allowed track side this year i.e.
