Cheap Denso Iridium IK-22 plugs....

Postby CJ » Wed Feb 15, 2006 7:40 pm

....suitable for the GPX:

I emailed the guy for a shipping cost, its €15 to Ireland. All in, they'll cost you €63 or €10.50 per plug, normally you're talking £10 (€14.50) a plug from the UK (without shipping) so its a good deal. I picked up a set myself :)

These plugs are the business - better performing and last 50-60K miles.

What is the code for the GR, is it IK22 for GPX and IK20 for GR?

IIRC, the Mivecs use IK22's all around, I'm not 100% sure on the V6 non-Mivec front though, I've read that they can use IK20s all around or IK20's at the back and IK22s at the front...

How do these lads compare to NGK plugs?

Don't think I've ever used anything other than NGK...

Denso Iridiums woud be a colder - higher performing plug - far longer lasting too so less maintenance on the plugs.

Denso actually claim a small bhp increase on the plugs - its not noticeable - but hey - it all adds up!

Got me a machined socket from one of the guys on ftooc for the spark plugs, sounded like it wasn't particularly easy to get hold of one that would fit on the spark plugs otherwise.

I'll get around to actually using it once of these days!

Yes, its the same with the GPX apart from the fact you have to remove the four bolts that hold the MIVEC cover in place.

Just wanted to know how often should the spark plugs be changed and for the gx is it best getting the Ik 20's or 22's? That guy on eBay still has them in stock.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.

IK20s are recommended for the GR although I believe 22's will work as well, don't quote me on that though. Platinum or Iridiam plugs have a liftspan of at least 60k kms, the standard front plugs in the V6 should be changed every service.
