Hi Guys,

just wondering if anyone has any experience of either Bord Gais electricity or Airtricity? Ignoring the obvious renewable energy side of Airtricity, are they both pretty much the same or is there any benefit of picking one over the other?

I have gas with Bord Gais, but read on Airtricity's website they're looking at supplying gas soon too.

Might as well save the few quid by going with one of them instead of ESB.

Kev.

Diret saving with bord gais if you already get gas through them. Unless Airtricity's gas prices are cheaper then Bord Gais then I'd go with them. We've seen more than a 10% saving.

...and theres further savings if you pay by direct debit.

Savings are quoted at 14% with Bord Gais for electricty and gas if you pay by DD. Even if you would rather forego the DD option, you'd be off your head not to switch. I would be surprised if Airtricity can beat the current Bord Gais offer.

The Bord Gais switch takes only 30-40 minutes too. A guy will pop out with a hand held and go through all the details with you including the DD option and then as of the final sign off you are no longer with ESB.

I swapped to Airtricity a number of months ago - they are a couple of % cheaper than Bord Gais. Switch is online and can be organised in minutes.
Bord Gais savings are only guaranteed for 1 year I think also.

A switch to either of these providers from ESB is a no-brainer really, as the savings are there with absolutely no effort to switch.

I switched to Bord Gais last year. Only took a few minutes online. A pretty painless process for savings of 10% - 14% for the first year. Guaranteed at least 5% less than ESB for subsequent years. This is indeed a no-brainer.
