What p****s you off most about Ireland Today

Postby steelroe » Wed Apr 09, 2008 9:45 pm

Bit of a rant here but, if 1 more youngster crosses the street while presuming I should be the one to stop, I will get out and (rather not say).

You are driving along and they walk straight across in front of you. I had one hooded little F****r croos right onto the road with his hood up, looking the other way on purpose. Whan I honked the horn he looked at me like I had 2 heads. Wife had to stiop me from getting out a kicking several shades of S**t out of him.

I hear you on this one! But its not just youngsters only people in general especially when traffic lights go green, they always seem to cross when the red man comes up and the light for traffic goes green!

Oh don't get me started...

My boyfriend has devised a trick for this, he aims for them and then speeds up while revving the crap outta the car. They get such a fright when they see you not slowing down they run the rest of the way.

Always works :D

What kills me is the mothers with the prams. They push the buggy out in traffic first to act as a kind of tester before following the pram themselves.
People. This is a helpless baby. The pram will not act as a barrier...

This "Ostrich" mentality always amazes me - they always look the other way when they step in front of the car. I wouldn't trust any road user to stop in this instance if I was a pedestrian.

I'm always ultra careful in town with pedestrians but if I think they are really pulling the piss I'll stand on the horn - though I know the FTO one is a little weedy! (One reason why I previously upgraded to PIAA).

Or you could try something like this  -

Wonder what car those fellas are driving. The smaller the car the better the effect would be! People wouldnt know where the racket was coming from.

Does anyone have one of these fitted, I'd like to try before I buy.
Not that I'm not happy with my horn or anything...

Well if you're worried its a little weedy you should upgrade.

One of my mates in college had a PA fitted under the bonnet, used have some laugh going around town during the night. Was a big bulky thing though to try and fit in there.

T'is the case in across the board and in all walks of life Seb.

Jay-walking I can tolerate but idiots who walk (not run) out in front of a moving car shouldn't be let out on their own. Most dogs know better!

I always shout at them.. age - gender.. I don't care - if you're dumb enough to try and cross the road in front of a moving car you deserve a bollocking!

In the past I have turned around and given two ladies an earful - the did the aul pram in front trick. I let them know in no uncertain term that the welfare of their child was not high on my list of prioritees at 7.30 in the morning. Judging by the colour of their faces the message came across loud and clear.

Don't even get me started on the young fellas that hang out at the cornershop - they clearly want to experience being confined to a wheel chair or being forced to use crutches. When I see those little (obscene word)s I clutch out and give her revs - when they've crossed enough that I judge they'll be out of the way I accelerate. It's only a matter of time before they misjudge my speed or I misjudge theirs.

The Irish roads are difficult enough to navigate without having to worry about suicidal youths and murderous mummies.

One thing I hate even more than disorderly pedestrians is the driver who sees a gap in the traffic large enough to fit his car in...but as soon as he's pulled out he looses the will to live and/or accelerate..there by causing the next car (and the ten cars behind it) to brake. God I hate those people!

I'm with you here, I see this daily and it really gets up my nose off. If you're gonna pull out in front of traffic, put the boot down you fool!
