When you say your water pump is no more, it is still working some bit right? I wouldn't dream of driving my car off the drive if my water pump wasn't working, engine would overheat and do all kinds of damage!

On Camskill, the guys tend to be very accomodating, give them a buzz, if they have it they'd prob be able to arrange next day delivery.

I'll ask my bro if he knows any good mechanics around Cork, he may well do.

The local price is about right, I paid the same a few years ago for a GS water pump. Any decent mechanic should be able to fit it.

Hey Jace,
I'm not sure which car you drive but i had to change the water pump in my GR 2 weeks ago. One thing i need to mention here is that the water pump is driven by the Cambelt. SORT THIS A.S.A.P. If the bearing in the water pump goes completely the timing belt will loose tension and you can kiss goodbye to your valves, rockers, shafts, sprockets and possibly pistons and rings. That's a new engine depending on the damage.

I had the old man helping me and we got the pump changed along with all the belts, tensioner pulleys and while we were at it valve lifters in about a day. It's not a huge job but it is time consuming.

If you've any questions on it give me a shout as i have a load of pictures taken of the process. I was in the middle of writing up a "How to" on changing the pump, but time got the better of me.
If you see me behind you, move over.
