Can anyone tell me why the labels on everything (the buttons etc,) in the FTO are in english - wasn't this a Jap car, which was manufactured for the Jap market - so why isn't everything in the car in japanese?

Good question. I know that all road signs in Japan are bilingual, maybe it was a cultural decision?

When I saw that header I was expecting some smart comments about last nights soccer results 8)
Getting back to the subject in question, I had wondered about the english language labels in the car too :?:

Same here. I post regularly over on a Liverpool Fc forum and the arguments over the disallowed goal are rumbling on and on.....

I seen a Toyota Soarer once and a lot of the inside including the trip computer was in Japanese. But most imports seem to have english controls

Or it could be the fact that "English" is the international "business" language?

I was left for dead by one of those Soarers once. It was ahead of me at traffic lights and it just took off. Surprised at how quick it was but I suppose it does have a 2.5l engine. Pretty nice car.
