Hot on the trail after Quinda's FTO was stolen just said i'd give you a heads up at what has been happening around mine lately, and tell you to watch out for a Modded Civic black hatchback with large highline spoiler.

Thursday nite 19feb leave work early at around 3 am on fri morning as i have a flight to england to catch friday afternoon. i get home around 4am but can't sleep straight away so sit up watching a dvd when at 4.45 a hear something out side. peek out through curtains wher above civic is parked infront of my house two lads in the car pointing at my cars (light on in the cabin) i pull back curtains and they see me and drive off, it was then i realise i had seen that civic before outside mine in the middle of the day about a week previous but thought nothing of it as i always check out modded cars. anyway go to england come back sunday in bed monday nite and i wake at about 3 am with a noise outside look out window and same civic was parked outside again but was gone before i could get outside myself. then on thursday at about 2pm it drove into my estate turned around near my house and back out i ran out the door and got a partial number plate ***97-D-471*** i didn't catch the last 2 numbers. have decided to go to the cops with this info on my day off tomorrow but i just said i'd let you know to keep an eye out incase someone is checking out FTO's

Yes you could say i'm being slightly parinoid after what happened to quinda and the car theves that were caught in kildare but i just said i'd give a heads up.

Sounds like you're right to be paranoid at present Daz with those types hanging around your gaff. You might need to take more drastic measures to ensure that your cars stay where they are - like disconnecting or removing the batteries etc.

Sounds like everyone should be vigilant and keep eyes peeled for the reg plate of the civic so that the Gardai can be set on the right track if the worst happens

An easier way to prevent the car from starting is to remove the fuel injection control relay in the fuse box under hte bonnet. Car will not start and it is very easy to remove and install.

I used to do this all the time on an old VTEC civic I had.
