HDMI Noise

Hi Guys..

My new video camera has HDMI output - which is supposed to be fab - however I've now tested 3 different cables (2 different brands and lenghts) but I'm getting a whole bunch of terrible noise on the Audio.. Video is perfect - but Audio is horrible..

Oddly when I do the "composite HD" out sound is perfect..

The noise sounds like cross talk kinda noise from the Data transfer going through the cable.. So anyways there aren't any audio setting on the camera and I'm guessing the signal stream through the HDMI lead is digital and maybe the frequency is too high for the telly or something 48/44khz.

So anyways I don't have any other HDMI gear around - and I have no experience with it..so I was wondering..

Has anybody else had similar issues with HDMI?

Frustrating thing is I none of the retail shops will let me test with their tellies - cause they seem convinced that it'll blow up - and I don't have any other HDMI gear so I can't check cables or telly..

Is there like a shielded variant of HDMI cables?
