gx to gpx how much hassle

just wondering if anyone has swaped engines how much do you recon and what would be needed would my manual box on the gx fit

I've swapped an engine. If you have the tools and a garage I'd say it's not that difficult if you're technically minded at all. Just make sure you make notes of where everything goes before you take it apart. ;)

I did it on the street in the dead of winter, which wasn't pleasant. Had to rent an engine crane too. But if you do undertake it I'll be willing to offer any advice you need.

Yes, your gearbox will fit.

I reckon non MIVEC to MIVEC would be way too much hassle, you also have insurance issues. I'm pretty sure the wiring loom on a GPX is different too.

Buying a GPX would make much more sense.

my fto started life as a 1.8 but someone obviously took the time to fit a mivec in it .... don't think it can be that difficult.....can it?

maybe when FTOs were expensive it was worth it, now they can be had quite reasonably, and in my opinion makes huge jobs like resprays and engine changes questionable unless they're a bonkers colour or engine,
