Query on Fuel Filter

Postby rsg » Fri Nov 05, 2004 6:48 pm

Hey guys, Just have a quick question about the fuel filter on the fto.

I found one behind the manifold, but heard from my mechanic that there is another one by the fuel tank? True or False? Can find anything about a second one in any manual.

What is the part number of this fuel filter and can anyone recommend a make? I'm not going to get from camskill this time because it's going to be almost triple the price, so I'd rather get it here.

Thanks

There is in fact a fuel filter (MR160794) at the fuel pump but I've never heard of anyone actually changing it. The main on at the bulkhead is MB868459.

The one in the fuel pump is only a plastic mesh to prevent large bits of crap from getting into the fuel line, this does not require changing. You can remove the pump under the rear seat and blow out the gause but I don't think it is necessary.
