Why does my FTO feel so good lately

Postby soc » Mon May 24, 2004 6:32 pm

Strange question I know but I just don't understand it - it just feels really responsive and sweeter than normal to drive. Could it be that octane booster......?
Although putting that mdf behind the rear seat really did make a difference.

I reckon thats just the way it is with FTOs some times, the same is true with my own, sometimes it appears to run better than normal, but I reckon its just in my head ;) For some reason, the car runs quicker and smoother after I've given it a serious clean 8)

Aye I've also experienced this - but this time it's different. I fitted a nice shiny set of OBX pedals on Saturday - they look really nice (except the footrest one didn't fit so I've still got a plastic footrest :()

This time the accelerator feels lighter - probably because of the alloy pedals but the car definitely feels more responsive. The only think I've changed is that I used that Octane booster and I've been driving mostly in auto..... wierd.

I'm gonna get a few more bottles of octane booster all the same.

I had the same problem so I just hacked off a corner of the footrest cover with a junior hacksaw and cleaned up the edge with a file, it fitted nicely after that.

the problem for me is that my alloy footrest is too big to fit on the plastic one without fouling the centre-console. Might have to slice a groove into the centre-console to allow the alloy footrest attach to the plastic one.....

Btw, I think the car is more responisve becuase I finally got a bracket for the induction kit so I could remove the bottom section of the airbox and have the filter sitting free of any restrictions so I think it's benefitting from getting more air than when it was sitting in the base of the airbox. Now all I need to do is make a heat shield.

Maybe I wasn't very clear, I was talking about cutting a piece off the OBX alu rest....
