Whoa, thats some job they did to the car... c*($s!

Bit scary that someone can be doing that to your car when you're home and its right outside your house! My nice immobiliser means they wouldn't be able to take the car itself but doesn't stop this kind of thing happening.

Think a hidden camera watching the car would be the way to go, that and a big angry rugby team with baseball bats, steel toe boots, and brass knuckles sent after the b*£*)%$s

Aw man, you just gotta feel for the guy. things like this really make my blood boil - I just think "civilised" society is too easy on these theiving scum. It must be obvious to people now that prison sentances and fines don't scare or deter these kinds of scum. dunno what the solution is but I'm leaning towards the arab way of thinking - losing a hand for stealing a car would make you think twice about doing it again!

I feel very naive looking at that. I am very security conseous when it comes to my FTO. But I would envisage someone trying to steel it for joyriding. I understand that cars are stolen everyday, it happens. Cars are also broken into for their stereo's, it happens. But this takes it to a whole different level, one that I could not have even imagined. And it's scary to think that this type of stuff happens. Also given the contempt and brute force used on the car, I can't image that guys guys would simply run away if you caught them in the act.

F*ck thats terrible! I can't imagine how that must feel, but I would make it a mission to find those guys and kick the crap out of them, and get the stuff the stole, at least here they are extremely rare, and the only reasons to steal one would be for a stereo or something or a joyride as Mustang said.

Reminds me of a story I heard about a week ago. When they first brought the VW Polo here, the newest model, the Germans declared it unstealable before it's release in SA.

Well they decided to let a street car thief here have a go at it since their best apparently couldn't steal it. The guy agreed to this provided the papers for the car were in the back seat and they gave him the keys afterwards if he was successfull. They VW people also had to watch from a few hundred metres while the car was parked in the road, no one was alowed near him.

All they heard was a split second bleep. 35 seconds after starting he drove past them! 35 seconds is all it took to steal a brand new car! Madness I tell you...

Anyway, hope they find (found?) the guys who did it.

Yea I read that one too yesterday - that's pretty scary. It's becoming a pretty crazy world we live in...... I remember when I was a lot younger (early teens) we used to leave the back door of my folks house open so we had a way in after school. Would never do that now though - also remember when it wasn't considered that risky to come home from town on a saturday night on your own - not now though - I don't really go to town much these days but any time I've been in the recent past I'm always amazed at the amount of scum around.... maybe I'm getting old, I dunno, but I do think parents should be made rresponsible for their children (to some degree) until they legally become adults.

Ya, wonder how many people still leave a key under the doormat or flowerpot these days! We're a few miles into the country, group of houses in the middle of nowhere almost, just get the occasional guy coming around asking for someone and fishing for information...

Luckily enough no crime around there at the moment but at the same time all the car alarms are on at night!

Pay day shortly, must look into that wireless camera thingy...
