Oil Types and Prices

Postby Kace » Fri Apr 16, 2010 12:31 pm

Can anyone recommend good places to purchase 5l containers of engine oil (10/40 SS etc. ) for topup purposes for the FTO.

Who is competitively priced for this around town ?

I will of course look at Opie on here, but it seems like shipping is prohibitively expensive to make small purchases worthwhile.

I use the carlube brand from southside factors, kylemore road. Not too expensive either
Think its about €38 for 5L of fully synthetic 10-40

HAlfords have good deals from time to time.
I bought Mobil 1 10w40 ss for 23 eur 5L

Southside Motors has Mobil 1 for 29.99 , 5 L , and Carlube brand for 24 eur. ( 5L)

I think that is unlikely, could you be specific about the grade and brand, The price would be about right for semi-synthetic, I'd be very surprised if you could buy fully synth, retail for that price.

Yup they had that deal last week all right, whether they still do or not is the question. Thats nearly half the price they sell it for normally.

If any of you have an FTOOC membership they have a decent discount on here http://www.opieoils.co.uk/. Might be worth trying to get them on board as a partner.
Currently in my collection:
