wouldnt start

went to start my car the other day and got nothing the volt metre didnt move but everything else worked fine after twenty mins the volt metre shot up and it started first time i checked all the conections around battery and they seem fine could it be the imobiliser acting up or someting else its not the first time it did it and it has also cut out while driving any help thanks

check your battery connections. did you notice if your central locking worked when you tried first, or if the ignition lights came on?

check and double check the cables and connectors on the battery - also check the main battery-fuse (big yoke held in with screws as far as I remember) it must be a loose something or other somewhere for it to be intermiddent..

make sure conenctions are clean and tight.

yeah central locking worked fine no lights came on the dash but interior lights radio air con and front lights all worked fine yeah i had a good look around today and everything looks to be right all conections seem to be ok

well i finally solved this problem turns out the car was hot wired at some stage and it was just badly fixed the cable was the wrong gauge and just an overall bad conection i discoved this after the car stoped on the m7 and smoke started coming out from behind the stearing wheel well its fixed now and running better than ever
