More Probs (Need Help with software)

I purchased a DVD of Peugeot Workshop Mauals and EPC from the following www.electronicmanuals.co.uk approx 2-3 weeks ago.

Site no longer works. DVD did work fine first time I loaded it. But I had to remove it again to clean up hard drive as it was almost full.

While loading the program the software genrates an "INSTALL CODE" which you email to them and thay send you back the 16 digit "ACTIVATION CODE". Now I cant obtain a new code as they seem to have shut down. Is there anyway way I can bypass this or use some software to generate a code.

All help is appreciated.

mmh... depends on how the disc is constructed.. most of these things can be bypassed fairly easily by simply browsing the disc manually..or through mucking about with different unpackers/extractors.. In some cases .exe files can be renamed to .zip and then unpacked.

without a copy of the disc it's difficult to do much I'm afraid.

Thanks for the reply. I only have one copy of the disk, cant burn another as it is a DVD DL.

If possible could you elaborate a bit. I reckon I should be able to do it with a little guidance.

What I'd suggest it copy the entire dvd onto your hard-drive..

browse though the files manually - try and bypass whatever launch application they have installed on the disc, surely they didn't encrypt the lot (that would be very unusual anyways)

alternatively you can insert the dvd..go to your "my computer" right click on the dvd drive - and choose "explore" now this may or may not work..

Yes I can explore the DVD no problem. But not sure what files to look for.

It does not autorun, you have to start the install by locating the setup.exe. There is over 6Gb of files. What files should I be looking for.

What types of files are they & how are they structured?

One other thing to check is whether you can install it successfully on a different machine. This will at least let you know if it will work again on your existing machine.

If the manual is web based go into the model peugeot you are looking for and if there are differnent languages select 'EN' and see if there is a file in that folder called 'default', if there is that may open a webpage that will let you browse/search the pages for that model.

I have a peugeot workshop disk and that's how I open it. Took me a good while to work it out though. (I also tried copying it to my HD but it kept failing)

Good luck with it
