That has got to be the biggest dreamer .

I would be VERY surprised if he gets half the money he's asking .
IMO those stripes look horrible .

+1 Stripes spoil what is an otherwise lovely car.

I have a theory about the price though, and I think I'd do the same.
He says it's a weekend car.... I reckon the wife is making him sell.

"Yes dear, you're right. I'll stick it on donedeal"

It's not his fault if noone buys it

i'll give him a call tomorrow for the laugh and find out the model and what the hell he spent €5,000 euro on. Maybe it was the "un-abused version" that came out after the version r's

Although it does look like a very clean car and minimal mileage. Might be able to sell it if he knocks a few K's off the price

(and its donedeal.ie not gumtree.... sorry about that)

The stripes and alloys do nothing for me I'm afraid...

He says it was resprayed so that could be around €2k of the €5k he said was spent on it.

rang the fella there.... maybe this face will sum up my conversation with him........... .

good points.
-brand new alloys €1000 (which i think are sweet :smt007 )
-new paint job €2500 (strips part of paintjob not decal... maybe that should go under bad points lol)
-serviced recently (kinda good... but look at bad points)
-NCT till june next year.
Low millage

Bad points
He said it was a gpx but not a mivec!!! told him what the story was with that statement so now he thinks its a gx. So not really sure what model it is... could even be a gr
Tax is up next month... thats another few bob out of your pocket.
Serviced regularly by his da's friend. I asked him does he has a service history. He said no but he can get his da's friend to write it all up if i wanted  .
And finally the pioneer sound system is just the headset be got up north for 290 stirling as he said he didn't get speakers, subs or anything like that.

He must be bad at maths as €5,000 spent on the car still doesn't add up and he also says €7,500 is a fare price.

Very expensive alright. The stripes are the problem though even if it was cheaper.

Yea, don't like the go-faster strips. Kinda ruins the car.

I find this car all the more upsetting as it appears to be an uber rare icelle blue which has now been detroyed by painting in those stripes. As an owner of icelle blue FTO, it make me shudder every time I see these photos -to think my car could look like that. If he was going to ruin a perfectly good FTO in an ultra rare colour -he could have at least done it in style and barrel rolled it into a ditch, or something......
There simply is no accounting for taste. I'm note sure I could live with those wheels either.

Very hard to put a value on such a car.
I would say, a mint '99 icelle blue GX manual, is worth an absolute maximum of €5k on a good day.(but realistically less)
minus say €500 for some decent second hand wheels
minus €2000 to have it resprayed (again).
Probably worth €2500.

+1 - I know a lot of you guys seem to like these rims - but to me they're just the next set of TSW Venoms in waiting - they'll have dated in 6 months time and will look naff.

This guy has clearly spent money on his FTO but its been badly spent to the point where the FTO is worth less - not more.
His best bet is to find some smuck who values viper stripes and hanzo rims on a GX over a clean manual mivec.

Ah the TSW venom, scumbag wheel of choice back in the day. That said they were a huge success there are very few wheels, if any, that I'd actually know by name. :smt003

I read this quickly first time and thought you said it was worthless -which was a bit harsh -even compared to my comments

That fella in Ennis with the black 95, with red dodge viper stripes might be looking to upgrade. I'd say he is the target market......

plus it looks like he got a musical horn, with that red switch beside his steering wheel

for the gx or gr or whatever it is on donedeal... the guy is a dreamer!! I have spent in the last 3 yrs a HELL of alot more money that that fella and my car has low milage and is well looked after (and has LOADS of extras!) and if i was selling id be asking 5500 (obvioulsy expecting to be bargined down... hence why i will never sell!!)
i thik some ppl dont realise the times they are living in with the stupid prices the ask.....

The wheels are dotz hanzo worth app 140 euro per one. Not bad if were 17" on lowered black car with some 225/35 tyres (IMHO). still these would cost less than 1g even with new toyo tyres wrapped. I do not like strips though.
