Hi Energy69, the exact same thing happened to my '98 manual GR. A mate of mine who is a genius with cars sorted my problem by simply removing the ECU and put it in the freezer overnight. Replaced it the next morning, car runs like a dream no more idling problem . I've had my pride & joy just over a year now and I've put up 16,000 miles of very happy motoring. The cat converter and the idling issue are the only problems I've had, I wouldn't change it for the world (well maybe for my own little island in the Caribbean )

Cheers Reen,

Do the 95's have an ECU? Excuse me if this sounds ignorant.

Yup, it does alright... next question is where it is, I'll take a peek at the workshop manuals, should have it in there somewhere

Looking at page 25 of the electrical wiring diagrams it looks like its over on the left hand side of the car, B32-B35.

I've never actually taken a close look at it, must take a peek tomorrow...

I seem to remember freezing overnight was the way to reset the pin number on stolen car audio systems as well, allegedly
