Has anyone out there with a couple of points renewed their insurance recently? Have the presence of points on your license affected your premium by much if at all? PM me if you don't want everyone to know and I'll edit out your name in response

As i said elsewhere my cousin has 6 pts, he had a driving job. Basically he said he would have got 10% discount off his premium if he hadn't any. This was with Hibernian. So having them makes no difference at the moment it seems. I suppose most places, if they take note of them have to give a discount and they are not going to do that unless forced to.

I just got my renewal quote and there is a statement on the conditions that mentions that I need to notify the insurance company of any pending convictions or penalty points. I don't think that this year's premium will be affected as I already have the quote - but they will now know that I have the points and may sting me next time
