Has the FTO ever been on it, ever?? Im thinking possibly when it got the UK release :?:

and if so does anyone know what series it was, cos i'd be interested in tracking it down.

Doubt it, they tend to be too busy drooling over new Aston Martins! Don't remember them ever even mentioning the jap import scene at all.

That is where you are wrong my friend. It has been on TOP Gear cannnot remember when but a search on UK site will reveal more.

Vicki BH herself did the review, oct 26 2000, red facelift gpx. Only 7 out of 10 but might let her off this once... :wink:

This one - http://www.importdriver.com.au/FTO.htm - might be the top gear review itself, or at least it has *BBC Top Gear at the bottom.

Neil, the FTO has appeared in TG twice that I am aware of, firstly in Jan '95 shortly after it's release in Japan the previous year, and highlighting the fact that it won the Japanese COTY 1994.

The second review was written in June '99 (as you rightly guessed) to coincide with the official import into the UK. Both reviews are generally positive.

All I can see on the VBH site is some poor quality photos of an FTO, is there a review to go with it?

I mailed them to suggest the FTO as a "future Classic".

Their reply simply said that I could watch the repeat on Monday nights!

Of course they are, first is pictures taken from the TOP GEAR program, second appears to be text from the TOP GEAR review! Not top gear's official site of course but yup related.
