MY BABY HAS BEEN STOLEN!!!!!!!!

Postby DirtyLopez » Sun Nov 18, 2007 5:45 pm

Guys!!! some motherf...rs have stolem my car last night from underground parking in my place!!
Just realized when I wanted to go shopping today... I found just broken glass, a piece of door handle and connector from the steereng column...

Jesus... I called gardai they arrived falf an hour ago and guess what... just took my details they didn`t even want to look on the photos of the car.
Anyway... I got the call 10 mins ago that my car was found somewhere in county Dublin parked on the side of the road... I don`t know in what condition. They took it to some centre to take off finger prints and all that stuff...
Have to call them tomorrow to find out when can I take my car back....

I hope just window and locks are broken...
Perfect sunday.... funny thing is that there is a guard at the entrance gate... but I don`t know what for... since I remember they just push the button and open the gate to everyone, no matter if someone live at this place or not...

Sorry to hear this DL - Hopefully the damage will be limited to just locks and steering column. You will need to get her up on a ramp to check for any damage on suspension and underside - its likely to have been driven very hard. If I were you I'd be claiming for anything I felt wasn't right - dampers/ springs / brake discs / buckled wheels /exhaust etc - Get a mechanical report on the car and copy it to the insurance company.

Man that's awful news! I really hope there's nothing too serious wrong with it.

When my sister's car was taken they told her it was found, but wouldn't say anything else. She later found out it had been written off. They're bastards like that, left her wondering for ages...

I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

Sorry to hear your news - got us all worried now.

What type of security did your car have ? Immobiliser / Alarm / Steering Lock / All 3 ?

OMG dude.... Brutal news. I know that feeling when your heart drops when you realise your car is not where it should be. My fingers are crossed that its only very Minor damage. Man I cannot believe that you have a guard on the gate too and he let them pull out? Whats that about? I'd be putting in a complaint with them too, how did someone walk in, break in and drive off without raising any suspicion. Makes me worry for my car. Im gla dI spent a fortune (relatively) on the alarm now, I hope it does its job as promised!!! hope its ok mate. :(

I`ll be speaking with this security company and letting agency today... we`ll see what they say. Gardai said that this was their responsibility to know who`s going in and out... but since I live there they didn`t bother even to come out of their shed... they just push the button if you know what I mean... and they advertise this place as very secure with free secured underground parkings... I just wanna see their faces when I`ll ask for this...

ok I rang the place where my car is...
The lady told that there are just slight damages on the car on the first sight... just steering column, door handle from the drivers side, broken small triangle window beside the doors and few scratches on the drivers side on the rear quarter panel... however they can`t say if the engine is ok. Lets just hope that FTO has a strong engine enough...
Anyway the car is waiting for garda examination which can take up to 5 days so I can`t get it back before that.... just excellent

That sucks.
I'd be really p*ssed off with the crowd that are providing 'secure' parking.

Hope she's running ok when you see her again.

Really sorry to hear that, makes my blood boil when we know those sucmbags will prbably get away with it. No respect.

If you haven't already - check with your insurance company if you're entitled to a free car while your waiting.

Best of luck when u get her back.

Disaster, sorry to hear that, hope its no worse than they told you on the phone! The security crew have some serious questions to answer alright, but it's prob the same story is most places like that. They hire some guy who has no interest in any problems and just wants to collect the paycheck each week.

Do they have any video surveillance of the garage by any chance?

if the side windows were both smashed, it should have been noticed when driving out.

yeah, there's no excuse for that really. They obviously don't even look at the driver/car as it leaves. I wonder will you have any come back at all with them. Im sure they don't accept responsibility etc, but defo worth having strong words with them.

That's terrible, I hope that the engine is OK. You definitely need to get it on a ramp and check the thing out.
