There's an adjusting screw on the throttle body I think, maybe it just needs to be adjusted down?

Here is what CAMSKILL recommends

ALL V6 Models

Description
Idle speed control valve, sometimes called a stepper motor. A faulty one will cause cutting out when cold, variable idling when cold and may continue when car warmed up.
This is a BRAND NEW item and NOT a reconditioned unit.

Notes 1
Fitting Instructions
1. Remove old stepper by undoing the electrical connector and unbolting from throttlebody fast idle valve.
2. Clean area where stepper plunger goes into throttle body.
3. Fit new stepper.
4. Start car and wind idle screw in until it idles properly at about 2000rpm cold.
4. Wait until normal temp is reached at 2000rpm now adjust idle back down to 850~900 rpm.
Done :)
