advice on a new steering wheel

Postby djabie » Thu Mar 27, 2008 3:51 pm

Hi peeps
On to my next mod im gonna replace my standard wheel with one with a bit more grunt off ebay.
Ive been toying with idea for weeks because i have an airbag on my standard wheel but im sick of looking at it.
You know the story it doesnt match any of the alloy shiny bits ive replaced on the rest of the car .
So i have decided on style rather than safety ( i will keep it below 100 mph)
Anyway questions...
1. has anyone bought one of these cheap wheels of fleabay
2. has anyone bought a boss kit off fleabay.
3. will all 6 bolt wheels fit all 6 bolt boss kits
Stupid questions i know but ive heard of some not fitting and having to drill out the holes.
Anyway after all that is there any issues i should be aware of before i take the plunge and buy one
Cheers.....

Havn't made any purchases from ebay myself but why look for a cheap wheel??? Aftermarket Momo wheels are available from the likes of Halfords for decent enough prices. I like the look of the Momo Evolution wheel myself.

Havn't changed the wheel in my FTO yet, I've done it in a couple of previous cars and found Tenzo R wheels to be very comfortable!

I agree with FTOny - get yourself a nice quality leather wheel like a Momo. They have a standard boss that fits the FTO. I think I got mins from www.motorsportworld.co.uk in the end.
