None that I can think of at the moment. enquire about how much it would be on an Irish provisional license. maybe that would be better than a foreign full license.

try XS direct. they'll surely quote you.

(do a search on the forum for them, they're not a conventional insurance company, there are pros and cons.)

thanks Colm, seems xs direct might work although not finalized yet, would hate 2 be forced 2 get rid of my fto, too much work put into it and much 2 much hassle I went through to give up now, question is is it a dedication or stubborness? (stupidity maybe:o)). thanks for all responses
cheers

P.s. Insurance laws here are insane, how can u put up with it, it is on the verge of breeching the constitutionally guarranteed law of personal freedom.

You stole these? Can only presume as you say you do not know the owners identity. Kinda rubbing salt in to the wounds of the owner, coming back to find that it has been vulcherised :k

I asked the current owner, who is a car dismantler, nice fella, and he did not mind, the car is wrecked. I was asking who did it belong to before the car was wrecked if anybody knows. (please refer to my note in spotted section). btw I would like 2 know why you assumed I stole it?? I find it extremally offensive.

I wouldnt get offended Marcin, I think its a misunderstanding due to the way you said it. When you said you took them and then asked who owned the car it looked like you said you took them from a car that was on the side of the road crashed, you forgot to mention about the car being at a wreckers, easy mistake to make.

I wouldn't say 1500 was a 'reasonable' quote but unfortunately you'll find it hard to get better imo.

Good luck

If I got a quote like 1500 in the north I'd be livid, but unfortunately this seems to be the goin rate south of the border.
Of course there's no harm in exploring all avenues but don't think your gonna get it much cheaper than this under the circumstances.

lets not forget lads, its 1500 with a 4000euro excess which is a kick in the stones if you ever need to use your incurance for ANY reason. our paying the first 5500euro in reality. madness

To put it into context, you're talking someone with no no-claims bonus and without an Irish license.

Can't see why they'd pay the same as someone like me with 9 years clean driving done in this country. I can't even see why there would be a difference as small as 200-300 for the premium to be honest.

No offence to the OP but most people with no claims bonuses etc. are paying around 1000 for FTO insurance, and would be paying a lot more if they were in an accident.

The high excess on XS direct is a kick in the stones, but you can reduce the excess if you wish - obviously the price goes up if you do. I can't see the OP being spoilt for choice on this one. FTOs are tricky to insure at the best of times.
