windscreen

N e a r l y pased the NCT this morning, the only thing that failed it was a chip on my windscreen. Anyone know where I can ger a new windscreen or where I can get it properly repaired. AutoGlass in Santry said they'd repair it but it wouldn't be an invisble repair - I'm not sure if that would do. I have windscreen cover on my insurance.

Btw the guy worked really hard to get the emissions down, he got the temp up to 94 to get the o2 below .3

A windscreen is going to cost you a few quid JD, call Rory or Jap Autospares in Ashbourne for quotes (number on 'Services' page). Its a pity you failed on the windscreen, the spacesaver didn't come into it at that stage! I havn't come across any windscreen repair jobs so I can't comment on quality.

Jeeez, you're right Ciaran, I was onto Jap Auto's in Ashbourne and they want €750 for a new one and €350 for a second hand one, not including fitting.....AND they wont have any untill next year.


ANYWAY I got the chip repaired this morning in the place in Santry for €68 and brought it ariound to the NCT and they passed it....AND they gave me the cert untill 11/05 - even though the car was brought in to Irl. in 4/02 and was never NCT'd before ....... Happy Days.

....but it doesn't bode well for anyone that actually needs a new windscreen.
