Passenger Window smashed

Postby Damo » Mon Apr 02, 2007 5:13 pm

Well lads,
Some tosser broke in to my car yesterday in Edenderry smashed the passenger side window and nicked my wallet. Can anyone recommend a good fitter round the midlands that would have FTO windows, also does Windscreen cover on insurance cover all windows or just the actual windscreen?

Thanks,
Damo.

Damo

I have a secondhand door glass. Not sure if insurance covers it or not.

Cheers

My Gran lives in Edenderry - used to be a nice quiet country town - friendly where everyone knew each other. Then the Dubs moved in and IMHO the place has changed for the worse (I'm a dub btw).....

I thought it still was. I just opened a shop there on Monday and I'm alot more worried about security now. Still good news is he was caught on CCTV so he should be getting arrested shortly. And my insurance will cover the window without affecting my no claims bonus i'm getting the new window fitted tomorrow. I have to say I'm was quite impressed with AXA today everything was sorted within minutes.

From what I can see they are making big efforts to clean things up but anytime I call down there it amazes me (a) how much it's grown & (b) how many little scummers are roaming the main street... maybe I'm just getting old.

Always good to hear of the scum getting tagged.....

I found Axa to be excellent to deal with - a bit inconsistent with their quotes but definitely good to deal with when it comes to claims, etc.

Tell you something by experience, make sure the fitters get a proper Mitsubishi window from the start. I got mine smashed last year and they tried a pattern part that after 4 hours of struggling to make it fit correctly it ended up smashing and had to wait till the next day that they got a Mitsi one (loosing money cos they had to pay for the pattern and then the Mitsi's plus VAT, total sum was more than what the insurance pays them + my £60 of the excess).

Awesome - can't believe somebody is actually going down for this. Amazing!
