conrod shell bearings

Postby tommysuper » Sun Dec 02, 2007 11:30 am

hi guys my brother bought an fto from japan recently as he liked mine but 1 of the conrod bearings has giving way on it.
we striped it down and pulled it out its a sad affair but the crank is fine no wear or scrapes on it.i was just wondering has anyone ever changed 1 conrod shell bearing and got away with the rest of them as all of his are tight and seem sound apart from the 1 conrod.
i ordered the shell bearing from camskill after checking out all the sizes and number on the crank.
cheers for any info lads.....

Fair play for tackling this yourself, can't say I can offer any advice apart from getting a copy of the workshop manuals from the downloads page, it contains a full breakdown of the V6 engine and might give you some ideas.
