Wheel weights

Postby kevinod » Wed Sep 28, 2005 8:39 pm

Guys,

going from Al's thread looking for buddy club wheels...

Just wondering what average say 17" wheels would weigh? For example I'm thinking of going with the Evo VIII Enkei alloys, which are somewhere around 9kg I think(?). Would those be considered 'average'?

I reckon so, I'd expect 17x7 rims to weigh in between 8 and 10kg on average. Check out http://www.wheelweights.net/ , weights are in lbs so you're gonna have to multipy by 0.45 to get the metric weight.

I've no idea how much the average weight of alloy's is but having recently had to fit a standard wheel to the golf (puncture) I can tell you my 18" RS4's are quite a bit lighter than the 15" standard replacement steelie....

SFs are 17.5lbs for 17s, these are still light and strong to boot, but i cant see them in 18s
