fto cutting out problems

Postby djabie » Sat Jan 12, 2008 8:59 pm

hi guys
Im totaly new to this forum and a new buyer of a fto 2.0 mivec
so i hope someone can help.
The problem is my fto is cutting out when warm after about 10 to 20 mins driving
The engine warning light comes on and stays on thats when the engine starts to misfire then cut out
this can happen on the move around 40 mph or stationary at a junction
once the car cutts out it takes about 1min to get it started again
I have changed the stepper idle control valve and it still happens
the car is booked in for a diagnostics in 4 days time in the meantime is there anyone who has had this problem or any suggestions thanks in advance.....

Doesn't sound good - did you check the fluids and exhaust? - also is the air intake unobstructed?

SOunds like the diagnostic might be your best bet to me - it could be a wealth of things..
