Have you got an external power antenna?

Postby CJ » Fri Jul 08, 2005 8:42 am

..if so, then I need you! I have an antenna unit that I'm considering retro-fitting, I need to take a few measurments from an antenna thats already in place so as I don't end up making a mess of the rear quarter panel. If you're around the Dublin area and you're free some evening or weekend, give me a shout and I'll bring my measuring tape!

I put in a standard power antenna as the old one was broke off when i bought it. Its a cowboy job really, I had to remove the bracket holding the original antenna in place, as the new one was bigger in size. I have it held in with cable ties  Does the job though. Had an auto elec wire it up for me though.

I'm in the knocklyon area if my cowboy job is any use to you

I have a wire clothes hanger - held in place with some baling twine. Does the business though - I can sometimes get Clare FM and the local Gardai on my Jap spec radio at the same time if I listen hard enough through the static.

CJ - You're welcome to have a look if you're looking for some ideas.

Yeah - but that'll never fit on the back of an FTO - I'm not saying you wouldn't get good reception but its Overkill if you ask me.
You'd probably have all sorts of handling problems as well.

Hang my Wha?

I’m going to have to put this one down to East-West communication issues or my grasp of the Dub lingo.

Yer ball licks!

The same phrase can be amened as needed to suit your requirements

i.e. Do you know the five lamps / liberty hall / the Ardnacrusha dam?

The response is always the same i.e 'Go hang your ball licks off it'.

I hope that clears up the misunderstanding ;)
