my car died

as i was driving home my car just stoped for no reason as i went around a cornor the electrics were working and it started a min or two later any ideas on the fault

Worth a try check your battery leads could be loose after that dirty stepper motor maybe :roll:

yeah i tried the leads they were fine even when it died the electrics were working it just wouldnt start and for a car with 180ish bhp it does not feel that quick my friends mr2 feels way faster that only has 160

Sounds like it could do with a general service.

Plugs, Filters, Fluids.
Also
Check Battery Terminals for corrosion & splits - I had to replace mine as one kept unfastening itself for some reason..
Check your Ground Cable from the starter engine also - if this is loose the car wont start.

and last but definately not least - there is no harm in cleaning your stepper motor. If this is dirty it's likely to cause the car to cut out during idling or gear changing.

These things may or may not solve the issue - but atleast once you have this done you'll know what's not causing it!

it happened again today as i changed lans on the motorway it cut out and restarted its self i got i serviced a couple of weeks ago and it has an itg filter on it

Agreed. Faulty immobilisor is also a likely possibility.

Petrol filter change. It is a DIY job but is a right pain in the ASS.
If possible disable your alarm system for a couple of days. and see how you get on.
