Buildings insurance

Postby kevinod » Mon Mar 23, 2009 3:02 pm

Hi guys,

shopping around for buildings insurance at the mo... anyone know any good brokers? Our premium went up 58% this year  so going to see if we can find an alternative.

We do all types of insurance, both general, which would include, car, house, travel etc, commercial, which can range from anything to everything, commercial vehicle, motor trade, liability, PI and so on, and we also have a life company which looks after health insurance, life cover, serious illness, pension, mortgage and a new one that may be of some interest is redundancy cover....

If anyone wants anything looked at, best bet is to PM your mobile and I'll get someone to give you a call, at least I know you're getting the right person to give you a call!

Ha ha ha, I don't remember getting any messages!!

In all seriousness I'm not even sure a club discount would be possible anymore, we would need minimum of 20-30 cases I would imagine.....

20-30 people that don't want to get shafted by Quinn again? Shouldn't be too difficult rounding them up!

You'd be surprised Colm........

In saying that if someone was willing to organise it I can talk to a few people in the office and see if it's something that we could look at?

Seems to be common enough that house insurance has gone up of late.
During a recession you have a better chance of being burgled, so I could understand an increase in contents insurance. However the rebuild costs of a house (the most significant value which is being underwritten) have come down -both materials and labour. I imagine it's a case of the insurance companies jacking up prices to cover losses they have made through bad investments. Nothing to do with increased risk. Again the little people have to pay for the folly of big business
Bank of Irelandare apparently guaranteeing to beat any house insurance quote received from a proper insurer.
Our cover is one of the most comprehensive available and is so competitive that if you happen to find a better deal - we'll beat it..
