Any idea why I literally have to ram it into 1st sometimes?
And sometimes it could take me a few attempts to get it fully into reverse
It's really annoying, after spending over a grand I was hoping it would've been 100%

As for the gear change issue, as suggested bleed the clutch properly and check the gearbox oil level.
Also check the gear selector bracket (at the back of the gearbox) - the rubber in them can perish and allow for movement - with that said I imagine that they would check for any signs of play when the clutch/gearbox was out.
I also heard that worn engine mounts can cause issues when changing gears.

Bracket as outlined by Temeo.
I had a similar issues on mine also.
I had a gearbox there for ya.
Would have only cost ya fraction
Of that.
Ah well, no bother
brccrx wrote:Pity you didnt decide to leave it here, you wouldnt spent even half of that 1k and biger chances there wouldnt be any trouble with it after the job is done, but sure its too late now so:
First i would talk to your mechanic and tell him to sort that as its not fixed properly....

Hi, thanks for the reply and great info
I think you may be right on both problems there
As I said I only noticed dripping the 1st day I used the AC
I'll start the car later and put the heating on full and check for dripping
If there's none I'm sorted there
The gear change problem must be the bracket and rubbers
I think that's the part the mechanic said he was going to check (he said the selector bracket might be too tight or something like that)
Are the parts in the picture what I'm looking for?
If so where could I get them, I've already tried eBay
Thanks again for your help
mivecrx wrote:I very much doubt that the person who fixed it knows more than seb(brccrx)!!. Would of been worth driving that extra few miles.
I also offered gearbox, perfect lsd and could of been tested.
My advice is to check gear oil is new and full!
