You don't need FTO knowledge to know where your suspension is making noise - your garage should have been able to identify the problem.
Impossible to say whether a set of dampers and springs would solve the problem - it might if the offending damper is worn but as mentioned it could be any number of other reasons - you really won't know untill you get it up on a ramp. Suggest you take the car somewhere other than your "local" and get someone to test the bushes, droplinks etc
If your FTO has never had its suspension addressed then you would certainly benefit from a set of dampers and lowering springs, ARB poly bushes and front and rear droplinks - check out
