The flexi section of my frontpipes was blowing slightly, only one thing to do.

I ordered these from Camskill on Wednesday night, they arrived Friday morning... excellent service, again.

Nice one Bernard. The downpipes is probably the most restrictive part of the FTO exhaust. Should add a couple of bhp. Pity that FTO of yours isn't in the 1/4 mile - it'd be pretty competitive.

No, there's a pretty good mechanic a few miles from me.
You're welcome to the old pipes and gaskets if they're any good to you.

Nice one Seb, do you have access to a lift or a pit?

Thinking of doing something similar, Do you reckon ne downpipes would increase bhp greater then a decat?,, not sure which to do first. :D

Have the mongoose downpipes on my own. Not sure they add much bhp but found the car revved easier and there was a torque gain so well pleased with them.

They had to fit a metal collar inside the flexi bit where it fits onto the exhaust manifold, at about 3k rpm they were producing a ticking noise, but once the collar was fitted it was perfect.

I can vouch that it's a pain in the rocks, I removed the downpipes from my donor car, and that was up on blocks (as in way higher than axle stands would've been) even then, a big lad like me doesn't have much room to manouver.

I got the car back last night, oil and filters done too.

He said there was a section of the exhaust that had been welded before, badly.
They had obviously done it in situ as there was only a U shaped section done, the top was blowing, now that's sorted too.

Mivec is now even sweeter :D

How did you find the performance with the downpipes? Same as I did maybe?

I'd have to class the downpipe upgrade as one of the better mods I've done to my car - it's in there right after the HID bulbs..

Revs seem to build easier - it could of course be all in my head - but it really does seem to make a difference.

I only brought it home, so I haven't seen much difference to be honest.
It definitely sounds better though.

A blast is called for tonight methinks.
