WTD: Lambda sensor

Postby fatboyfat7 » Mon Jun 15, 2009 2:04 pm

My 'universal' one clearly isnt up to scratch so im looking for a OE one that will pass an NCT. Pricey enough new so want to avoid that if possible...

Not sure this is your fault then - I replaced my Lambda with a Universal from eBay and she sailed through NCT afterwards.

Not sure OEM is going to do any better for you - next port of call for you should be CAT and/or Engine Coolant Temp sensor methinks.

As long as you connected up the new Universal Lambda correctly it should work fine - has done for me and several other FTO owners. I don' think that the OEM version will make any difference - and you will only be buying another second hand one as new ones are about €300

You need to install someone else's CAT and then bring it back to mechanic for emission retest.

This is kinda turning into a split conversation between here and the topic in the Technical section so I posted a response over there. Thanks for the advice Kace too. Hopefully I'll get outa this the cheapist way possible!
