[SOLD] Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 Type-S

Postby CJ » Sun Nov 30, 2008 2:47 pm

Its with some regret that I've decided to put the VR-4 up for sale but I'm a coupe man at heart and I'm planning to go back to the rotary fold with the RX-8 in mind.

History and impression

I'd been hankering after a Galant VR-4 for a number of years and decided to take the plunge last last year, I was lucky enough to bag myself a very clean and well maintained Grade 4 top-spec Type-S at auction back in March '08, its been my daily driver since then.

The 6A13TT V6 is a very responsive engine with plenty of torque from low down the rev range, it gets to 60 much quicker than the vast majority of saloons on the road right now! Its a real street sleeper that elicits double-takes on a regular basis, the only giveaway is the subtle front and rear VR-4 badges. The power is complimented by excellent handling which is helped no end by the 4WD and AYC system. Despite plenty of spirited driving, the car hasn't let me down once. The Tein suspension is very compliant and not at all thrashy, damping currently set to the hardest level without compromising on ride quality.

I've spent a lot of effort keeping this car in excellent condition inside and out. As far as I'm aware, this is the only Galant VR-4 for sale in Ireland at this point in time, if you're looking for a rare, well maintained sports saloon with street sleeper attitude, look no further!

Enough of the banter, heres the details:

The Car

2001 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 Type-S, Pyrenees Black, NCT 04/09, Tax 04/09, 104k kms / 65k miles. Grade 4 March '08 import with 96k kms on the clock.

I've seen this car rolling past a couple of times now ... fantanstic looking car... very very menacing...

and as it is a 4 door saloon I'd dare say that it has a practical streak as well..

Expect a call from an Irish Mobile phone number - some lady who "already has buyers lined up" all you need to do is pay 120e of which 110e will be refunded upon completion of the sale..provided the car is as advertised...

I may have raised my voice at her slightly and caused everybody within earshot in work to revise their view of me as a quiet person. :-s she had it coming

I'm prepared Muad - unfortunately, you come to expect such intrusions when selling cars in this country

CJ, you should explain to people too that the track day pics were taken during a very short run at Mondello... the only time this car ever seen a track. This car has been cared for in every detail, I have seen it in the flesh and it's awesome.

Point taken Adrian, thanks for the input

For anyone whos viewing this thread (its linked off Carzone and Autotrader) may be interested in purchasing, please note that the car spent 3 hours on track at Mondello Park, each session was no more than 15 minutes at a time and the car and brakes were properly cooled down as per standard track day procedures. The car received a full service soon afterwards and apart from some high speed driving that day, it hasn't been abused, quite the opposite in fact.

The pics where added to illustrate the cars mean look i.e. what you see on the road! As such, I wouldn't let the fact that the car spent a couple of hours being driven around a track put you off purchasing.

Feel free to contact me directly if you need more information.

They're pricey alright but I must say they're an excellent bit of kit - they light up much quicker than 'standard' HIDs.

Price reduced to 8950 euro, this represents excellent value for a late model VR-4 in such good condition.
