What ICE do you have?

Postby CJ » Sat Dec 13, 2003 5:38 pm

I eventually got around to installing a second amp and a subwoofer in the boot today, the sub is only an 8" model but christ the whole setup sounds great! Heres what I have in place at the moment:

JVC KD-SH55R CD reciever
JVC 12 disk CD changer
Rockford Fosgate Punch 400W RMS 4-channel amp
Sony XM-502X 2 channel amp (130W bridged for sub)
Rockford Fosgate componants up front (50W RMS per channel)
JBL 6x9s (50W RMS per channel)
8" sub in homemade enclosure
1.2 Farad Powerflow capacitor
Boot, quarter panels, parcel shelf and doors soundproofed

While it dosn't look all that neat, the system sounds the business. Good
thing I soundproofed the boot! Anyone else have any decent audio kit installed?

Yah.
Not sure if it counts now though

Pioneer system.
Top of the line sony speakers.
Sony Xplod Active Subwoofer.

I am not sure of the exact models, the details are in the car.

The pioneer headunit is mp3/wma. the model has a 7500 in it anyway :)

Unrelated yet related....

You boys with subwoofers, I have one annoying thing that goes along with my twin 10" Kickers - a distinct rattle in both seatbelt housings just at ear level. Does anyone else get this and more importantly has anyone sorted it out. This is the one annoying rattle that seems difficult to shift.

Anyone ?

When you're not using the rear belts, plug 'em in, if that doesn't work, you'll have to soundproof the plastic panels to the side of the rear seats.
Its down to the hardware store for some flashband methinks!

It's the mounts for the front seat belts just behind your ear on the pillar coming down from the roof that I'm talking about. Sounds like it's in the actual mechanism that the rattle comes from.
