Derestrict issue with Trip Odometer

Postby Hercules Q. Einstein » Fri Jul 13, 2007 12:45 am

I recently purchased and installed one of these devices.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... osi_widget

It converted KPH to MPH fine.

One problem is that now whenever I turn off the car, the next time I turn it on the "trip odometer" will have reset itself.

Is this a normal side-effect of this product or do you think I might have made a mistake when installing it?

Is the converter connected directly to the battery? If it is connetced to the car wiring it might be connected to a power point thats only on when the ignition is on.?

Just in case anyone's interested.
The derestricter wasn't causing any problems
a loose connection at the back of the main dials was the problem.

Could one of these be used to derestrict only, leaving the car in KPH?
