Why bother owning a car?

So I park across from the building here at work. there is room for 5 cars parked front to back. I normally park there to avoid the old door dings you get parking in the standard parking.
lol. anyways, I park in position 2 today and I come out just now to see in postion 3 some guy is about 6 inches from my rear bumper... And some other 'hero' has managed to squeeze into postion 4 about 2 inchs from the car in position 3. position 5 is squashed in too with a kerb in front of him....
makes you wonder.... the cars are scrappers too covered in marks and dents. so I don't think they are the kind of drivers who mind a bit of bumper tapping and rubbing to get out. does this annoy anyone? Or am I seriously anal. I don't think so. I think even if I didn't care about my car I think this is fcuking unreal. Walking around the car parks at work sometimes you can spot cars parked back to back with about 1 inch at the front and one inch at the back bumper and the wheels on full lock. lol. unreal. good driving? eh no... you can bet 110% there was some friendly tapping getting into those spots... nice.

I'd get seriously pissed off if I'm even vitness to a spot of bumper banging - let alone if I see it done to my car.

People will be loosing teeth if I'm near..

Actually that stuff gets to me more that actual collisions - a collios happens by accident. Bumping into other cars in the car park is just plain disrespectful. Such behaviour should be punishable..

I know what you mean, although I've been lucky enough with my FTO not to get any car park dents so far (although I am careful to always park where there's loads of space or the end of a row) - knock on wood!

I was visiting my aunt in London a few years back when I saw that first... pulled up next to a space, she reckoned she'd get in, myself and the brother said no way its too small and thereafter started a good 5 minutes of back and forth bumping front and back. Unbelieveable stuff but she reckoned that thats whats done in London.

when im driving the work van ( which i couldnt give a fcuk about ) i really love annoying other clowns who cant park. ie the executive saloon driver ( 5 seriers esp. ) who thinks the correct way to park is diagonally across the space ie front left on white line, rear right on white line and ar$e of car over hanging in "my" space.

My solution??? I park 6 inches from his drivers side door that way the fat lazy fcuk has to cross the passenger seat or get in the sun roof
If he hangs around to give abuse i tell him he shouldnt let his guide dog do the parking in future.

Take a trip to Paris to confront your demons. The term bumper there is quite literal...never mind a small nudge they'll shunt you out of the way to enlarge the parking space

The Parisians quite often have a second crappy banger for city driving as this type of parking is the norm. Their main car is garaged for weekend out of town motoring. Also they leave their cars parked unlocked as it is perfectly acceptable to move anybody's car if it is blocking yours by realeasing the handbrake and giving the car a little push.
I'm thinking of throwing this proposal open to the Irish motor insurance industry for their comments!

I admit to bumper banging when I need to. I live on a tight road and sometimes need to get into spots with inches (rather than feet) to spare.

Probably wouldn't do it if I had an expensive motor

Some of the most shocking parking you'll ever see is outside schools, some people couldn't be bothered walking a few yards so they abandon cars instead of parking them.

I once saw a woman leave her car at 45 degrees to the road after hitting the car behind her in a vain parallel parking attempt.
